The masters in mechanical engineering program focuses on thermal and power, mechanical design, and other engineering subjects.
Based on natural science, technology and practical experience, mechanical engineering solves the theoretical and practical problems involved in the research, development, design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of all types of mechanical devices.
The master program in mechanical engineering is offered in the three following specializations:
Energy and Power Option: This specialization develops scientific and humanistic qualities and professional competences, and prepares students to master the professional knowledge in thermal engineering, power engineering, power machinery, environmental engineering and other related areas, to know internal combustion engine, fuel cell, solar energy, wind energy, hydrogen energy and other energy technologies, and to have strategic vision in sustainable energy development.
Mechanical Design Option: This specialization develops scientific and humanistic qualities and professional competences, and prepares students to master professional knowledge in mechanical design, manufacturing, automation, mechatronics engineering and other related areas.
Mechanics Option: This specialization develops scientific and humanistic qualities and professional competences, and prepares students to master professional knowledge in mechanics, mathematics, experiment and other related areas, to be able to solve theoretical and practical problems involving mechanics independently, and to have the fundamental knowledge required in research, development and management.

Scholarships
Tianjin offers international students comprehensive scholarships to cover tuition and living costs during their studies. With a scholarship, registration fees, tuition, laboratory fees, internship placements and accommodation fees on campus are exempted. The duration of the scholarship is the same as the duration of studies, which is confirmed when students are accepted to Tianjin University.
Qualification
- Students will be conferred a Master Degree and awarded a graduation certificate after they have fulfilled the credit point requirement, completed their graduation thesis and satisfied their degree requirements in the stipulated period of time.
- Students who do not qualify to graduate will receive completion certificate. Dropouts will receive learning certificate.
