Located in Växjö and Kalmar, Linnaeus University offers over 150 degree programs within arts and humanities, health and life sciences, the social sciences, the natural sciences, technology, and business and economics.

Linnaeus University was established in 2010 through a merger between Växjö University and University of Kalmar.

Campus & lifestyle

University life has much to offer, from meeting up with friends at the student pub to attending events and cultural activities. The student union and the student associations are doing their best to make you feel at home.

Please be aware that Linnaeus University does not own any housing. We have agreements with local housing companies allowing us to offer housing for some of our students. We are unable to offer housing for families.

Scholarships & funding

Each year Linnaeus University offers scholarships to outstanding students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland through the programme 'Linnaeus University Scholarships'.

Scholarships are available for students who study master programmes as well as for students who are studying courses within the Summer Academy. It's possible to get up to 100 percent reduction of the tuition fees for a full programme. Scholarships for students who study programmes will not cover living costs or other costs. Scholarships for courses within the Summer Academy will, however, cover both tuition fee and living costs.
