About this program

Master of Bioscience Engineering: Agro- and Ecosystems Engineering

Agro- and ecosystems offer a wide range of essential goods and services such as food, water, energy and biodiversity. This program is dedicated to train the next generation of experts in the sustainable management and functioning of natural and agro-ecosystems, not only from a biophysical perspective but also from a wider socio-economic perspective.

(Semi)-natural and production-oriented ecosystems provide a wide range of essential goods and services such as food, water, energy and biodiversity. The contemporary context of population growth, rapid urbanization, economic globalization, climate change, deforestation, soil pollution and degradation poses a challenge to the supply of sufficient quantity and quality of these goods and services. Agro- and Ecosystems Engineering is an English-taught multidisciplinary master's program aimed at acquiring in-depth knowledge of the functioning and management of natural and production-oriented ecosystems. />With opportunities for integrated project work and master's theses abroad, as well as exchange semesters to Chile or South Africa, this master's program has a strong international focus with the aim of educating students who can contribute to pressing environmental and climate challenges anywhere in the world through sustainable land management
