Industrial Engineering & ManagementAvans University of Applied Sciences
Industrial Engineering & Management
You think big, bigger, biggest. In the Industrial Engineering & Management study programme you focus entirely on international maintenance management. You do not carry out the maintenance yourself, but you ensure that it takes place. And convince management that it is necessary.
You have a flair for technology. You enjoy working with people from around the world. You are quick to see how machines or processes work. You understand what steps you need to take. You are also keen to look beyond borders. You are not a fearful person. You have self-belief and persuasive powers. And you approach your tasks responsibly.
As your focus lies on international maintenance management, your classes are taught in English. Naturally, the key areas are technology and maintenance. But also management, leadership and negotiation. You will draw up cost projections, schedules and reports. And give presentations in English. You will visit various companies in the Netherlands and abroad. And carry out practical assignments for them.
Maintenance management is strongly on the rise. You will work in close collaboration with the biggest companies around the world. With students from the Netherlands and further afield. The programme is extremely practice-based. You will spend the first two years studying in Breda. Your work placement and graduation phase can take place in Breda, but the opportunities are all around the globe.
The level of your prior education has to be equivalent to a Higher General Secondary Education level (Dutch havo) or Pre-University Level (Dutch vwo). In addition to the minimum diploma requirements, adequate knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and English is required. For all our English-taught degree programmes, the minimum English language prerequisite is an academic IELTS test or equivalent with an overall band score of at least 6.0. This means you must have successfully passed the 'speaking and writing' and 'listening and reading' components. As a degree-seeking student you must provide evidence of your language competences in the form of an official certificate: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge ESOL.
