About this program
The Vehicle Repair and Technology course is a two-year full time diploma that includes topics such as: operation of vehicle systems; fault diagnosis and rectification; a vehicle technology project; motorsport workshop practices; motorsport vehicle preparation and inspection; professional practice and logistics; engine principles, operation, service and repair; vehicle science and mathematics; electrical and electronic principles, charging and starting systems; petrol injection systems for spark ignition engines; electronic ignition systems and vehicle engine management systems.
Vehicle Repair and Technology utilises excellent workshop facilities with specialist tooling and diagnostic equipment. Our close links with industry mean that we can access the very latest equipment.
There is also a specialist motorsport workshop for building motorsport vehicles and we have links with motor clubs and tuning companies.
Students benefit from industry standard construction plant training facilities and workshops. Course lecturers have extensive industry experience and are the training provider for nationally recognised hire companies.
Assessment is through assignments, practical work, written and spoken tests.
Further study: higher education qualifications such as Foundation or Honours Degrees in a related subject.
Careers: opportunities in a variety of roles in the motor trades such as technician, mechanic and sales.
