Master in Automotive Engineering
The transport industry is facing new challenges, such as fuel economy, alternative fuel use, green energy – hybrid and electric vehicles, intelligent driving support systems, increasing safety requirements, environmental changes and global warming, vision of zero accidents and etc. Therefore, this situation requires professionals who are trained to deal with these challenges and are familiar with new technologies and management systems.
The aim of master’s degree in Automotive Engineering is to produce well trained students who will be future professionals and respond to the needs of this industrial sector.

To this programme applicants are accepted from the fields of: Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Transport Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics.

Automotive Engineering (along with transport engineering) is a branch of vehicle engineering, incorporating elements of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydrodynamic, software and safety engineering. Is applied to: investigate and design, manufacture and operation of mobile machinery, railway transport, motorcycles, automobiles and trucks and their respective engineering subsystems. Engineering attributes and disciplines that are important to the Automotive Engineer field are included in the study programme:
- finite element method;
- vehicle and transmissions dynamics and hydrodynamics;
- optimization and optimal control methods;
- mathematical modelling of vehicle systems;
- railway transport energetics;
- traffic flow;
- reliability and durability in Automotive Engineering;
- NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) engineering;
- fuel economy and emissions;
- transmissions, drivetrains and chassis;
- 3D modelling (CAD, CAM and CAE systems);
- reliability and durability in Automotive Engineering;

Graduates are employed in the automotive industry, which comprises a range of businesses, institutes and agencies active in the research, development, manufacturing, validating, maintaining and selling of products associated with vehicles and transport system. ‘Vehicles’ should be understood as a broad concept covering passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, special vehicles, motor cycles, but also pulled vehicles such as trailers, semi-trailers and caravans.
