Bachelor in International Mechanical Engineering

Big data, additive manufacturing, electric vehicles, lightweight components and advanced materials have created a new frontier for incoming mechanical engineers. Now, successful engineers need knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, robotics and automation, electric vehicles and supply chain management. This broad training isn’t available in traditional programs. That’s why our international, multidisciplinary English-taught program is built in collaboration with industry to prepare you for work or advanced study in integrated systems.

Admission requirements

You will be considered for admission to the Bachelor in International Mechanical Engineering program if you fulfill the following entry requirements:

  • You need to hold the equivalent of a Swedish upper secondary/high school diploma (general entry requirement) with minimum entry requirements for mathematics, physics  and chemistry (see program syllabus for more details).
  • Proof of English proficiency

Tuition

For EU students this program is free, tuition fee for international students will be SEK 105,000 per year. You will pay the tuition fee per semester (in six instalments).

Qualification

Upon completion of this bachelor’s program you will receive a Bachelor of International Mechanical Engineering (BSc, 180 credits).

By the end of your program, you will be able to:

  • Choose, design or improve manufacturing processes by considering the behaviour of materials during the process and their impact on final products
  • Program robots and design automation during manufacturing
  • Manage the logistics and supply chain in manufacturing
  • Work in the multidisciplinary field of electric vehicles

Continuing studies

This program helps you build a strong foundation in the field of mechanical engineering. Develop the qualifications you need to pursue your master’s and PhD in a related field in production technology such as materials and additive manufacturing or digital supply chain management.

After graduation, you will be eligible to continue studying as a student at University West or other universities in Sweden and abroad. University West offers the following related advanced degrees:
