Program description

Geospatial Technologies

This Master consists of three semesters, the first two dedicated to the courses of the programme, and the third dedicated to the Master’s thesis.

The first semester is held either in the UJI or at the UNL, in Lisbon; the second in the University of Münster (Germany). In the third semester, the Master’s thesis can be completed in the UJI, the University of Munster, or the UNL.

The courses of the first semester in the UJI are focused on new technology contents and basic Geographical Information. In the second semester, in the University of Münster, students study subjects on basic and advanced Geoinformation Science. Also, courses are taught on other important subjects such as project management and research methods.

The Master’s thesis in the third semester is closely linked to ongoing research projects of one of the partners. The objective of this Master’s programme is to train professionals in Geospatial Technologies which is a rapidly growing area that lacks professionals; it therefore provides an excellent opportunity for the development of a professional career.

Admission requirements

On pre-registration, applicants must hold any of the following qualifications:

A) An official Spanish university qualification or a qualification issued by a country in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

  • Licenciatura, ingeniería or arquitectura
  • Diplomatura, ingeniería técnica or arquitectura técnica
  • Grado
  • A foreign qualification awarded by a higher education institution within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

B) Foreign studies officially recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport

     Students must submit the following documents:

  • Certificate or diploma of the qualification giving access to the master's degree
  • Official recognition certificate for the foreign qualification issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

C) Official university qualification from countries outside the EHEA

     Students must submit the following documents:

  • A foreign qualification awarded by a higher education institution outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)
  • A certificate from the home university certifying that the studies are at a level of training equivalent to bachelor's degree studies and entitle the student to access the master's degree studies.
