Admission requirements

  • This course is only available to international students.
  • Usually, the entry requirements for the MSc Mechanical Engineering course is a 2:1 honours degree (or above) in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar relevant engineering or science discipline (for example, physics or mathematics).
  • If English is not your first language you will need an acceptable pass in an approved English Language qualification to make sure you get the full benefit from studying at Swansea. We consider a wide range of qualifications, including the Swansea University English Test, the British Council IELTS test (with a score of at least 6.5 and 5.5 in each component).

Swansea University English Language Training

Swansea University's English Language Training services offer a variety of English courses including pre-sessionals, year round English, exam preparation and short courses. If you hold an offer from Swansea University you are able to take the Swansea English Language Test (SWELT) to fulfil your English language entry requirement. This is a 3 hour test which includes Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
