Jewellery crafting courses in Florence are offered at two different levels: basic and advanced. The Basic Jewellery courses in Florence (20 weekly hours; 4, 12, 24 or 36 weeks) focus on the study of the characteristics and behavior of metals during working – laminating, wiredrawing, soldering.
Constructing a jewel: the various components and their combinations, uniting the parts (soldering or mechanical jointing), modelling in hot and cold wax, plasticine, hot and cold silicon casting and rudiments of casting.
Finishing rendered pieces, honing, cleaning and polishing. Various kinds of jewellery enhancing processes. Practice in stone-setting, and engraving.
The Advanced Jewellery courses in Florence (4, 12, 24 or 36 weeks) include the study of the techniques used in jewellery crafting, such as drawing, laminating, boring, soldering, scratching and embellishing. Hot and cold modelling in wax, modelling in plasticine and the relative casts in silicon, and casting.
This jewellery making course also covers the art of rendering pieces based on drawings and models: rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets and necklaces with complex clasp mechanisms and jointings.
