About this program

Master Programme in Spacecraft Design

The Master Programme in Spacecraft Design is a full-time master degree completely taught in English that focuses on the design of spacecraft. Situated in Kiruna, in Sweden’s north, the course covers the integration of complex technical systems that are able to work in the extreme environment that space is.

In your first year of the Master Programme in Spacecraft Design you will gain knowledge about the space environment and also how it travels and orients itself in space. You will also learn about various subsystems which make up the spacecraft and how it communicates with the surrounding world.

Through the duration of the second year of the Master Programme in Spacecraft Design you will spend most of the time pursuing projects and group work, while working with computer design of a spacecraft and learning how to construct instruments and how to fit to carry them.

You will also undertake a master thesis at a space technology company, space organization, or academic department, in Kiruna or other part of the world.
