This master's degree applies the unique combination of human physiology and engineering in a broad range of areas for healthy humans: quality of life, sports and active life, nutrition, intelligent environments and preventive health monitoring.
The interdisciplinary Master of BioscienceEngineering: Human Health Engineering (HHE)offers a unique program and educational vision focusing on technology for healthy humans. HHE is a program that applies the unique combination of human physiology and engineering in a broad range of areas for healthy humans: quality of life, sports and active life, nutrition, intelligent environments and preventive health monitoring. The program progresses from biology onward to technology, not vice versa as is often the case in most engineering programs. In this way, the program aims at developing new technology in a more efficient way, meeting the high expectations of users.
Admission requirements
This program is open to any applicant holding an academic bachelor's degree in bioengineering, holders of an academic bachelor's degree in engineering and holders of other bachelor's or master's degrees encompassing thorough coursework in at least mathematics and statistics, physics, biology and physiology.
This degree should be obtained at a recognized university, college or institute, with an end result of at least second class upper or equivalent. The admission decision is evaluated by the program director on the basis of the required documents provided by />the applicant through the official online application procedure. All applicants need to meet the minimum language requirements of KU Leuven. In addition, they need to have obtained minimum scores of at least 18/30 (TOEFL) or 6/9 (IELTS) on each of the components tested (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
