Electronics Engineering (M.Sc)

The Master's Degree in Electronics  Engineering at Kadir Has University provides the skills and methodological tools needed to design and develop systems for signal processing, microwave systems and devices, information theory and coding  and control with applications in the fields of electronics, and telecommunications. The program provides methodologies of advanced mathematical calculus, in particular probability and stochastic processes and linear systems  in order to introduce the necessary tools to model and formalize the solutions of complex electronics engineering  problems focusing on telecommunications.  The teaching is complemented by providing advanced knowledge on the different topics characterizing especially in the fields of wireless communications and networking by providing advanced knowledge and skills for digital transmission techniques, theoretical and practical aspects of the information theory and coding,  analysis and management of telecommunication  networks,  the design of sensor networks and  on analog and digital broadband  circuit design. Our MS graduates are expected to handle, analyze, design and offer viable solutions to the problems of the related institutions and companies in Turkey as well as abroad.

Admission requirements

The applicants of the program are required to hold a B.S. degree and to have scored at least 55 in the quantitative section of Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) and 65 in the Interuniversity Council Language Examination. ALES score requirement is not applicable to international students. International language examination (TOEFL etc.) scores are acceptable for all appliants according to the equivalencies as imposed by the regulations of the Higher Education Council. The appllicants fulfilling these requirements are further interviewed.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded with Master of Science in Electronics Engineering (The Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA): Level 2, European Qualifications Framework (EQF): Level 7).

Program outcomes

  1. Reaches knowledge in width-and-depth by conducting scientific research in electronics and telecommunications areas, and evaluates, interprets and applies the knowledge.
  2. Knows extensively about the up-to-date techniques and methods applied in electronics engineering and their limitations.
  3. Completes the knowledge with scientific methods and applies it by using undetermined, limited or missing data; may use knowledge from various disciplines jointly.
  4. Is aware of new and developing applications of electronics engineering; examines and learns these applications whenever needed.
  5. Defines and formulates problems in electronics and telecommunications engineering areas, develops and applies innovative methods for solving these problems.
  6. Develops new and/or original ideas and methods in electronics and telecommunications engineering areas; designs complex electronics and telecommunication systems and processes, and develops new/alternative solutions in the designs.
  7. Conducts and applies theoretical, experimental and modeling based research related to electronics and telecommunication systems; scrutinizes complex problems in this process and solves them.
  8. Can work efficiently in intra- and inter-disciplinary teams, be a team leader and develop solution oriented approaches in complex situations; can work independently and take responsibilities.
  9. Communicates orally and written in a foreign language at least the B2 general level of European Language Portfolio.
  10. Transfers systematically and written/orally the process and results of the work in electronics and telecommunications area systematically both national and international level.
  11. Knows the social, environmental, health, security and law aspects of engineering applications, project management and practical applications, and is aware of the limitations of these issues.
  12. Obeys scientific and ethical values in stages of collecting, interpreting and announcing data/results and all occupational activities

Upon successful completion of the graduate program, candidates can apply to doctoral programs at Kadir Has University, or any university in Turkey or abroad.

Career paths

The Master's graduate in Electronics Engineering can find jobs within industries, public companies, government agencies, financial institutions and research centers, whose R&D divisions carry out activities concerning design, production and management of systems for information processing and transmission, data networking, wired and wireless communications design, control techniques and robotic.  In particular, main positions are in companies involved in design, production and management of telecommunication systems, as well as infrastructures for data acquisition and transportation and information technology applications for telecommunications, smart and wireless sensor systems and cities.
