Master Engineering Systems: Automotive Systems
Automotive systems teaches the latest developments in automotive technology, design and production. The programme focuses on intelligent vehicle systems (vehicle dynamics and control, driver assistance) and advanced propulsion design (driveline and power train).
The course is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, witih full-time students having the option of spending their first year studying at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague; whereby they obtain a double degree: a Master of Science (MSc) from CTU and a Professional Master’s degree (M eng) from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
The Automotive Systems course includes:
Term 1
- Introduction Automotive Systems
- Mathematics and Mechanics
- Practice modelling and simulation
- Vehicle Dynamics & Vibrations
- Combustion Engines and Thermodynamics
- Driveline and Transmission
- Minor Project
Term 2
- Advanced Vehicle Dynamics including modelling/simulation practice and project
- Advanced Vehicle Control including project Vehicle Control
- Vehicle Electronics including lab autotronics
- Control Systems Engineering
- Automotive Management
- Alternative Powertrains
- Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems
Term 3
- Final Project and Master Thesis
Automotive engineers are involved in all processes from research through to market demand, design and development, production and evaluation of systems and components in terms of the performance of the end product, the vehicle.
Admission requirements
Students wishing to study Engineering systems: Automotive Systems must meet the following requirements:
- Relevant Bachelors degree with an average score of at least 70%. Your grade point average must be 2.8 or higher based on a 4.0 system.
- Sufficient knowledge of the English language (TOEFL iBT Score of 80 or higher, IELTS score of 6.0 or more, Cambridge Certificate CAE or CPE)
