Master Engineering Systems: Lean Engineering
The Lean Engineering Master course teaches students to make the link between the latest technological developments and a company’s business processes. Building upon knowledge from a technical bachelor, Lean Engineering deepens this knowledge and provides students with tools to improve manufacturing design and product development.
COURSE CONTENT
Term 1:
- Systems Modelling (15 EC)
modelling of physical systems, including white and black box modelling - Lean Process Development (15 EC)
Application of lean principles and methods for the design, operational control and improvement of manufacturing processes.
Term 2:
- Applied Control (15 EC)
including feedback, digital and optimal control and controller implementation - Lean Product Development (15 EC)
Opportunity identification, product planning, concept generation and selection, product architecture, DfX methods, Quality Function Deployment and Value Engineering
Term 3:
- Graduation Project (30 EC)
After graduation, the Lean Engineer may work in a variety of functions, technical as well as managerial. Examples are product engineer, production engineer, project manager, lean facilitator, R&D manager, operations manager and innovation manager.
Admission requirements
Students wishing to study the master Engineering Systems: Lean Engineering must meet the following requirements:
- Relevant Bachelors degree with an average score of at least 70%. Your grade point average must be 2.8 or higher based on a 4.0 system.
- Sufficient knowledge of the English language (TOEFL iBT Score of 80 or higher, IELTS score of 6.0 or more, Cambridge Certificate CAE or CPE)
