About this program
Bachelor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
The 4-year Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering trains students to become developers. Right from the start of the course students delve into the many practical applications that make up this exciting field. Students can specialize in either Embedded Systems or Industrial Power Systems.
Embedded Systems
The focus of Embedded Systems is digital technology and microcontrollers. Students will design, build and test intelligent systems and smart devices. Embedded Systems is all about combining hardware, software and technology like Google Glass, smart fridges and interactive games. To do this, students learn to program in C and C++, design digital electronics with VHDL, program microcontrollers and configure FPGAs.
Industrial and Power Systems
In Industrial and Power Systems students learn about topics such as power electronics, control systems engineering, sensors, electric drives, operating systems and sustainable electric energy supplies. Students design smart solutions in industrial automation, such as: machine building and process technology, in industries as diverse as waste incineration and beer brewing. Or motion control in medical devices such as operation robots, complex traffic control. It is also about how electricity is generated and transported and than distributed or about electric drives.
The Bachelor course includes one semester of internship at international companies, a minor of your choosing in a relevant area and the last semester doing the graduation assignment where students tackle an issue that a company is facing. HAN works with international companies like NXP, TenneT, Liander, Nedap, Thales.
