Profile:

Two-year follow-up master's study programme "Mechanical Engineering" is designed for graduates from general branches of bachelor's study programmes majoring in engineering. It is a university study providing students with wide and deep theoretical as well as practical knowledge in the selected specialized branch.

The list of all branches can be found on the faculty website ("Study plans").

Graduates may work e.g. in research and development fields, design and technology, manufacture and operation, as well as management, trade, and services. They may occupy positions such as designers, members and leaders of development teams, project managers and the like. Career prospects depend on the selected branch of study.

Key learning outcomes:

Graduates in Aircraft Design branch obtain knowledge of Aerodynamics and Mechanics of Flight, theory of Strength of Aircraft Structure and Aircraft Design. They will be made familiar with structure materials and their processing, and design of weight-saving structure. They will acquire principles of aircraft design from the point of view of technology of production and operating. They will familiarize themselves with basics of theory of aircraft reliability and aircraft structure life.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples:

Graduates of Aircraft Design branch find opportunity for application at projection, constructionally developmental and research workplaces of state or private aircraft industry. Gained knowledge also allows them to find application at any engineering area dealing with flow problems.
Graduates of Aircraft Design branch can continue their studies in Doctoral study programme Design and Process Engineering.

The basic prerequisites for the admission are:

  • CV,
  • letter of motivation,
  • authenticated certificates of the pending or completed study,
  • an authenticated certificate of the highest-level English exam passed.
